1953 circa 14 Fret Oval hole #895

Soon after Jean Beuscher bought the remaining stock of Selmer instruments and parts, he set out to have build and finish some of the guitars he had purchased, in the various level of completion..Some of you might remember the Favino made bodies on Selmer necks.. this is an example of a Mahogany Selmer body but with someone else's neck..!!! the headstock sports the Selmer "brand", and the neck is made of mahogany instead of Walnut, and has the customary "grafted" headstock, but the profile is decidedly different than Selmer..more round..in the C shape, rather than the D shape the last recorded Selmer serial for an oval hole was #884 this one is #895.. leading to deduct that he might have carried on having the guitars serialized in continuation of the Selmer factory numbers..!! overall the guitar is in excellent condition.. it has a Selmer tailpiece, but SB tuners instead, and just one top crack repaired.. the sound and playability is outstanding.. internally it only has 4 Top braces, and the two little support bars under the bridge, are in fact four in this one. this thing is so rare...it's the only one i've ever seen...it is a really really special guitar..
