1940's circa Heart-Shape

This is the earliest version of the model I have ever had..the distinctive shape of the headstock confirms the precocious design.. the soundhole is slightly larger as well.. everything else about the construction is identical to later models.. solid spruce top..laminated birdseye maple back and sides.. two piece mahogany neck with rosewood insert, and a rosewood fingerboard.. the guitar was refretted as the original ones were popping every which way..earlier in it's life it had a different tailpiece, and the original cheap tuners that turns backwards...now it has a proper modern set installed..the playability is spot on, and the sound is what made these guitars the most sought after model Joseph di Mauro "the Elder" ever made..
