Jul 3, 2008: NEWS..!!! NEWS...!!! NEWS......!!! NEWS...!!!! NEWS...!!!...NEWS...!!!...NEWS...!!!...NEWS...!!!!!
On my never ending quest to find the origin of the Maccaferri/Selmer cutaway, and knowing that everything began in Africa, i am happy to say that i found it in the West African country of Burkina Faso..... I just posted two Busato, one Dupont, one Joseph di Mauro, one Antoine di Mauro, and one Jacques Favino guitar...!!
The sixth one in the "Spotlight" is the :
"Unique Busato".....Mr B. Busato is indeed a mystery..we can't even agree on his first name..Francois Charle,15 years ago, during his research for the Selmer book, tried to unearth information about him..nothing..no commercial registry..no official records..no relatives..nothing.. he seems to have had 3 periods..the no label first period just befor the War, with or without the name "Busato" on the headstock,
the paper label "Cité Griset" address, and finally the headstock plaque with the "Boulevard de Ménilmontant" retail address
where to begin on this one..??
how to convey the uniqueness of this instrument..
It is likely to be the last production model of this obscure company.. the guitar is simply outstanding.. slowly but surely, everybody finally understands the importance in the gypsy world of Mr Busato's creations..this guitar examplifies the "modernité" of the model.. a deeper cutaway.. an unsual oblong soundhole.. an original 13.3 fret neck..!!! and on and on.. in near perfect condition, this is again a SUPERLATIVE
instrument..rare rare and more rare.. and again..the only one I have ever seen. the playability is perfect, the sound is OUTSTANDING.. until you/we find another one, dare to be the only one in the world to have it..!!!
